Mr. J. W. "Jake" Edwards, 69, of Bartow, died Sunday, October 7, 2007, at his residence. A native of Mississippi, Mr. Edwards has lived in the Bartow area for over 40 years, moving from Eloise, FL. He was a auto & boat fiberglass fabricator. He was a Baptist. He was a Navy veteran. He is survived by 4 daughters: Jackie Campbell of Fort Meade; Dianna Marie Edwards of Bartow; Dorothy "Jenay" Hartzog of Bartow; Olivia Jean Edwards of LaGrange, Ga. 4 sons: Perry L. Powell of Lakeland; Jimmy Lee Edwards of Bartow; Roger Lynn Edwards of Bartow; Bradley Edwards of Lakeland; 2 brothers: Bobby L. Edwards of Gainesville, Fla; Billy Rae Edwards of Winter Haven; sister: Nellie Faye Dodd of Lakeland. 25 grandchildren & 6 great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wednesday October 10, 2007 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow.
