James A. Brightwell

James A. Brightwell, 85, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Bartow Regional Medical Center of respiratory failure. Born September 23, 1928 in St. Albans, WV, Mr. Brightwell was a resident of Bartow since 1977, moving from Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, serving in Korea & Vietnam. He was a member of the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, a Lifetime member of V.F.W., Disabled American Veterans, American Legion & Retired Enlisted Association. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Mr. Brightwell is survived by his wife of 66 years, Irene T. Brightwell, Bartow; a Son: Theodore R. Brightwell of Charleston, WV. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Whidden -McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
