James "Butch" Alligood

Highland City - James "Butch" Alligood, age 78, passed away April 17, 2024 at his residence in Highland City. He was born on September 8, 1945 in Bartow, FL. He worked in Telephone Communication for Disney World for 45 years. He was an amazing coach, enjoyed reading his bible daily, exercising and spending time with family and was a proud black belt in karate. He was preceded in death by his son Shaun Alligood and sister Helen Nason. He is surived by a loving family that includes his wife Rita Alligood of Highland City, daughter Shelley Hagan of Lakeland, brother Lyle Bulman (Janet) of Bartow, step brother Bibbson Pate of Highland City, grandchildren Allie, Bailey, & Daniel Hagan and 5 great grandchildren Family will receive friends Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow.
