James A. Tucker

November 4, 1954 — April 6, 2021

After a courageous battle against cancer, James Tucker, 66 passed away on April 6, 2021 at his home in Winter Haven, Florida. Born on November 4, 1954 in Bartow, FL, James spent his life as a Polk County resident and worked as a Machinist for the majority of his career. After retiring from Mosaic in 2016, he spent several months traveling the US with his loving wife, Debbie along with several friends and family joining along the way. He graduated from Bartow High School in 1973 where he made lifelong friends who he spent much of his time with during his retirement. James was an avid motorcycle/ATV owner and was most at peace when he was sitting (or cooking) on his dock on the lake with friends and family. James had three daughters with his late wife, Pam. His girls will always remember their dad taking them on road trips during the Summers and attending all of their activities, as he was so proud of everything they did. He later gained two sons through his marriage with Debbie. He loved them both very much. James was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Doris Tucker, and his former wife, Pamela Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Tucker, Siblings- Denny Tucker (Leta) and Fidelia Salley (Bob), his children- Jessica Hicks (Joel), Sara Cooper (Matt), Kathy Desrosiers (Scott), Trevor Gandy (Shalena), Shane Odowski and grandchildren- Caden, Teagan, Lyla, Rowan and Ariah. Affectionately known to many as “T-Berry”, James spent his last days surrounded by his adoring family and close friends continuing to keep everyone on their toes and smiles on their faces- cracking jokes every chance he got. An outdoor service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL on Saturday April 10th at 10:00am. All are welcome.
