Bartow - J. Alice D. Whidden, age 89, passed away on October 23, 2025, at Lakeland Hospice House in Lakeland. She was born on May 24, 1936, in Charlotte County, FL. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide. She was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, boating, riding horses, picking in the fields, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband William L. Whidden, daughter Suzanne Whidden and brother Howard Maits. She is survived by her children David Whidden of Bartow, Diane Smith (Colin) of Solihull, Michael Whidden of Bartow & Joseph Whidden, sisters Stella Collins of Bartow & Ruth Peacock of Bartow, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
