Iva Maude Farmer Poyer, passed to be with the Lord and loved ones on April 3, 2010 of heart failure. Iva was born in Durrand, Michigan on March 19 1921 to a farming family. She married Charles Cecil Poyer in 1942 and they raised a loving family and stressed family values to all. She worked for many years in the retail business for Sear Roebuck & Company and retired to Avon Park in 1981. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bartow, FL and was very strong in her faith and Christian walk. She is survived by her daughter: Diane Hinton of Bartow; son: Dennis Poyer of Bay City, MI; sisters: Eda McCraw of Tallahassee; June Olson of Flint, MI; grandchildren: Matt Hinton of Bartow, Laura Stutte of Oahu, HI; Scott Poyer of Vero Beach; Rachel Riley of Vero Beach; Brandi Kunz of Bay City, MI; Tammy Smith of Waterford, MI; great grandchildren: Mackenzee Kunz; Kaylee & Chloe Smith; Ian Riley & numerous neices & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years: Charles Cecil Poyer; son: Terry Poyer; brother: Thomas Farmer; sisters: Elsie Mae Ware, Alexa McNerney & Mavis Sharpe. Family will receive friends Wed, April 7, 1-2 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Bartow with a Celebration of Life service following at church at 2:00 PM.
