Bartow - Istvan Steve Barabas, age 63, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his residence in Bartow. Born July 19, 1954 in Budapest, Hungary, Mr. Barabas was a resident of Bartow since 2003, moving from Connecticut. He was an Owner/Operator Truck Driver. He is preceded in death by his parents: Sandor Barabas and Anna Veres Juhasz; a brother-in-law: Alexander Szabados, Sr.; a step-sister, Elizabeth Tally. He is survived by his wife: Susan C. Barabas, Bartow; daughter: Loyana " Loni" Avera and husband Shawn, Sevierville, TN, two brothers: Joseph Barabas and wife Ildiko & Sandor Barabas of Connecticut; two sisters: Gabriella Szabados of New Hampshire & Cathy Barabas of Connecticut; a grandson: Colton Woodin of Sevierville, TN; two nieces: Erika Fowler of New Hampshire & Hailey Barabas of Connecticut, two nephews: Alex Szabados, Jr, of North Carolina & Peter Barabas of Connecticut; sister-in-law: Ann Marie Duceman of Bartow, uncle: Frank Barabas Sr. and wife Carlene of Connecticut, as well as many other endeared family members near and far. He was the sweetest, most loving man. He was there for anyone who needed him. A helping hand, a kind heart and a wonderful husband. He gave to others without hesitation. He loved his family so much. Earth's loss is heaven's gain. He will be so greatly missed. A prayer service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 12:00 PM at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Bartow.
