Irene Merritt Grant

Fort Meade - Irene Merritt Grant, 84, passed away Friday, March 19, 2020 at her home in Fort Meade. She was born August 21, 1935 in Red Level, AL, to Joe & Martha Merritt. She was a School Bus Driver for 27 years for the Polk County School Board. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: James, Dallas, Jack & DeWayne, two sisters; Minnie Lee Merritt & Betty Beverly and brother in law; Winfred Vickrey. Irene is survived by her husband of over 65 years Eugene Grant of Fort Meade, daughter; Tammy Small & husband Tom of Bartow, grandson; Gordon Green & wife Krista of Homeland, granddaughter; Kristi Smith & husband Justin of Bartow, four great grandchildren; Anna Lynn & Clay Greene and Jude & Olive Smith, sister; Rachel Vickrey of Red Level, AL and brother in law; Fred Beverly of Red Level, AL The Family will have a Private service.
