Irene Worsley Davis

Irene Worsley Davis, age 92, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in Auburndale. Born April 30, 1915 in Tampa, she was a homemaker and also worked as a secretary for the Polk County School Board. Mrs. Davis was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bartow, where she was a pianist, choir member and teacher. She is preceded in death by her husband E.C. "Starr" Davis and son, Starr Davis. She is survived by two daughters; Janice Steele (Ronald) of Lakeland and Beverly Mullis ( John "Mack") of Fairfax Station, VA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren; Stephanie Prescott of Woodbridge, VA, Angela Bender of Ashburn, VA, Donna Alexander of Denver, CO, Keith Dease of Orange Park, Jonathon Steele of Stevens Point,WI and eight great grandchildren; Ashley Prescott, John Prescott, Caitlyn Bender, Cameron Bender, Kristina Dease Bowden, Kaley Dease, Peyton Alexander, and Preston Alexander. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Saturday December 15, 2007 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Graveside services will follow at 11 :00 AM at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
