Ida Mae Starling Bacon, 96, of Fort Meade, FL, died Sunday, Feb 21, 2010, at her Residence. Born Jan 18, 1914 in Newton, AL. Mrs. Bacon was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Cornerstone Church of God. She was a nurse for 20 years, after retiring she was a school crossing guard in Fort Meade for 8 years. She was preceded in death by a son Timbo Starling and two husbands Elmer Starling and Robert Bacon. She is survived by her Daughters; Linda Bryant & husband Johnny of Fort Meade, Edith Cornwell & husband Tommy of Naples, Jean Holiday and husband Robert of Frostproof and Alice Gross & husband Paul of Alturas. One Son; Elmer E.J. Starling & wife Linda of Rustburg, VA. Sisters; Dolly Arnold of Tullahoma, TN, Judy Goss of Tampa and Daisy Robinette of Manchester, TN. Grandchildren 25, Great Grandchildren 45 and Great Great Grandchildren 36. Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway in Fort Meade, FL, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, Feb 24, 2010. Funeral service will be at Cornerstone Church of God, 10 South Seminole Ave in Fort Meade at 11:00 am Thursday, Feb 25, 2010. Officiating Rev. Jack Cochran and Rev. Bill Whitener. Burial at New Hope Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL.
