Hubert F. Whitten, Jr.

Bartow - Hubert F. Whitten, Jr., age 94, passed away March 7, 2024, at his residence in Bartow. He was born on June 28, 1929, in Bartow, FL. He was a Superintendent of Production Control for IMC. He was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bartow. He enjoyed reading his Bible, spending time with the Lord, going to church and serving others. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Director and led the Triple LLL Senior Adult Ministry for years. He was an avid gardener loving roses, bird of paradise & cactuses. Hubert was also a faithful sports enthusiast supporting the Florida Gators. He loved spending time with his family and always had a joke for the grandchildren… Although He didn’t care much for their pranks on him! Paw Paw was a special man and made each family member feel as if they were his favorite. He will always be loved and dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Betty J. Whitten of Bartow, sons Hubert F. Whitten, III of Opelika, AL & Randal Whitten (Cathy) of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren Hu Whitten, IV (Juliet) , Christopher Whitten ( Amy), Geoffrey Whitten (Katelyn), Michael Whitten (Stephanie) , Ryan Whitten (Regina) & Andrew Whitten (Haley) , great grandchildren Daxton T. Whitten, Matthew Whitten, JJ Whitten, Oliva Whitten, Finley Whitten, Walker Whitten, Liam Whitten, Ellie Whitten & James Whitten and many nieces & nephews. Family will receive friends Monday, March 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Bartow, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Bartow. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
