Holman Barnes

Mr. Holman Barnes, age 71, died from cancer Wed. August 20th at home in Bartow. Born July 25, 1937 in Ozark, AL, Mr. Barnes was longtime area resident. Holman most recently worked for Publix Supermarkets Inc. in the Deli Plant. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 53 years Voncile Barnes, daughter Robin Barnes of Bartow, three sons; Michael Barnes of Bartow, Craig Barnes (Donna) of Lakeland, Romney Barnes of Bartow, two sisters Carolyn Riley of Newville, AL, Debora Ann Williams of Ozark, AL seven brothers; Max Allums of Brundidge, AL, Billy Allums of Mulberry, David Allums of Abbeville, AL, Robert Allums of Cedar Springs, GA, Terry Allums of Abbeville, Larry Allums of Enterprise, AL and Steve Allums of Texarkana, AR. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Fri. August 22nd from 6 PM to 8 PM. Graveside services will follow Sat.
