Herman Ross "Hoss" Rhoton

Herman Ross "Hoss" Rhoton, 35, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 of heart failure. Hoss lived in Dallas, Texas. A Vice President of Rhoton Construction Group and a Partner of Home Care Depot, Hoss is survived by his parents, Tom and Patsy Rhoton, Lakeland, FL; siblings, Tiffany Rhoton Walling and her husband, Tony, Lakeland, FL; Janelle M. Rhoton, Glenwood Springs, CO; Clinton D. Rhoton, Lakeland, FL; and niece & nephew, Tristen and Trace Walling, both of Lakeland, FL, grandmother Saleene Stinnett, Dardanelle, AR, great-uncle Fred, Sun City, AZ, aunts and uncles Jana and Bobby Stinnett, Lakeland, FL; David and Barbara Riker, Dardanelle, AR, Dick Falbo, Dover, AR, Joe Falbo, Phoenix, AZ, Joyce Falbo, Roseville, CA, Leda and Dick Rogge, San Diego, CA, Buddy and Marlis Stinnett, Phoenix, AZ, Susan and Ken Beckman, Huntington Beach, CA, Pattie Jo and Ken Barbarick, Fort Collins, CO; cousins, Nick and Travis Stinnett, Lakeland, FL; Alodie and Brianna Barbarick, Ft. Collins, CO; and many, many other family members throughout the United States. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Ross and Patricia Rhoton formerly of Cottonwood, AZ, and Paul Stinnett formerly of Glendale, AZ. Hoss is a 1993 graduate of Bartow Senior High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1998 from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. Hoss' determination to excell was unparalleled. He was an accomplished All-American Wrestler and Power-Lifter, winning bouts and matches of such prized titles as, County, State and National Champion. Hoss finished his collegiate wrestling career earning a ranking of 4th in the nation. Hoss holds the Texas State Bench Press Record at 501 pounds. He held several arm wrestling championships in both Florida and Texas. Hoss was a championship showman of livestock in every arena. Hoss' best qualities cannot be measured by his trophies and championships. Hoss was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and mentor. Hoss never had a bad day. Hoss expressed his love through quick wit and a convincing smile. His spirit and enthusiasm for life was undeniable whenever he entered a room. On Monday, July 12th, visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, FL. The funeral will commence Tuesday, July 13th at 11am at the First Assembly of God in Bartow, FL.
