Henry Warren Woods, Sr., passed October 11, 2022. He was a native Floridian. Henry worked as a supervisor for Caulkin Indiantown Groves. He was also a deputy sheriff detective and a fire/rescue chief while living in Indiantown, Florida. He owned several businesses along with his wife. Upon moving back to Polk County, he worked for Taylor Rentals as a mechanic in Plant City for many years. After retiring, he loved to do carpentry work, painting pictures and fishing. His real love was his church and seeing God. He is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Stella Woods; brother Cody S. Woods; sister Betty Jean Zehr, sister Barbara Jane Sloan; one son Henry Warren Woods, Jr.; granddaughter, Ariana Lexis Woods. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda; sons Henry and Kenneth Woods; three grandchildren: Tommy (Sarah) Woods of Altha, Florida, Matthew Woods, Altha, Florida and Tracy Woods of Lakeland, Florida; four great grandchildren: T.J. Woods, Gage Woods, and Alaina Woods of Altha, Florida and Avery Woods, Lakeland, Florida; and brother Scott Woods. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Highland City Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
