Helen Burton

Lakeland- Helen M. Burton, 84, died Thursday, Feb 14, 2008, at the Rohr Nursing Home in Bartow of cancer. A native of Savannah, Ga, Mrs. Burton was a resident of Lakeland for 18 yrs, moving from Inverness. She was a baker for S.H. Kress Department Store for many years. She was a volunteer & very active with the Lakeland Senior Citizens Center. She was a Pink Lady volunteer with Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness & Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. She was a former member of the Ardella Baptist Church. She is survived by 5 daugthers: Donna Boire & husband Michael; Jean Adan; Patricia Edelman & husband William, all of Lakeland; Sue Tally & husband Robert of Grand Prairie, TX; Christine Douglass & husband Terry of Citra, FL; 2 sisters Thelma Miles of Inverness; Jeanette King of Belleview, FL; 2 brothers: Talmadge Adams of Atlanta; Buddy Adams of Winter Haven. 11 grandchildren & 10 great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday, Feb 18, 4-6 P.M. at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
