Bartow - Hazel Paulett "Polly" Odom, age 81, went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, September 2, 2026. She was born on July 17, 1945, in Jacksonville, FL to Lavon & Ruby Lee Claxton. Polly was the Owner & Operator of her beauty salon "House of Beauty". She was a devout Christian and was of the Baptist faith. Polly was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Julie Odom, sisters Irene Pullen, Maxine Helms, Linda Evans, Shirley Locke, and brother Marvin Claxton. She is survived her children Jerri Moses, Diana Wilkinson, Sarah Pearce, Gerald Odom, Jr. and Pamela Harler, former spouse Gerald Odom, Sr., sisters Carolyn Claxton, Janie Colson, Patricia Randall, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday, September 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, FL. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL.
