Harris Conner

Frederick Harris Conner, 69, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his residence in Bartow of heart failure. Born July 25, 1944 in Bartow, Mr. Conner was a resident of Atlanta, GA. for many years before moving back to Bartow. He was a graduate of Bartow High School and attended the Citadel in Charleston. He was U.S. Army Veteran. He was a part -owner of a Tire & Automotive repair business in Atlanta for many years. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. He was a avid race car enthusiast and owned numerous race cars through the years. He loved to fish. He loved animals, particularly cats and was known to provide meals for all the neighborhood cats. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Lamar and Ruth Harris Conner. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Conner (Pat) of Decatur, GA and two brothers, Gerry Conner (Debbie) of Syracuse, IN & Loy Conner (Susan) of Bartow, FL. Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 5:00 PM Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Bartow First United Methodist Church. Memorial services will follow at 5:00 PM at the Church.
