Dr. Harold "Hal" Haase, 75, of Port Charlotte, Florida died on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 surrounded by family. Hal was born in Haverstaw, New York on February 10, 1943. After passsing the GED test, he enlisted in the Airforce at age 17, serving for two years. Upon honorable discharge, Hal earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. He married Barbara Regan of New York, New York and had two sons, James and Christopher. While working full time, he attended Columbia Presbyterian Medical School and earned a doctorate before completing residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He worked as an engineer at IBM while in medical school and eventually served as medical director for IBM, Metro North, and Lockheed Martin. He married Jeanne Young in 2012 and retired from Lockheed Martin in 2014. Hal enjoyed life and was an avid sailor and amateur pilot as well as a loving father and husband. Hal is survived by his wife Jeanne Young of Port Charlotte, his sons: James Haase, San Diego, CA and Chris Haase, Caracal, Romania, step son Tommy Young, Altoona, FL. and five grandchildren: Calie, Lucia, Carina, Audrey and Mia.
