Grace L. Clayton

Bartow - Grace L. Clayton, age 96, passed away March 16, 2024, at Life Care Center in Winter Haven. She was born on January 13, 1928, in Plant City, FL. She was a School Bus Driver for Polk County School Board. She enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, and sewing. Grace loved God and served Him and her church faithfully. She taught many years and age ranges of Sunday School and sang in the choir. Her children were raised in the church and continue to serve. The hundreds of children & teens she carried to school on her bus loved & respected Mrs. Clayton because she loved them and made sure each was treated with respect. She was preceded in death by her husband W.D. Clayton, seven brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughters Brenda Edenfield (Calvin) of Bartow & Glenda Nation (Roger) of Whittier, NC, sons Edward "Jerry" Clayton (Vickie) of Jasper & Douglas "Terry" Clayton of Winter Haven, grandchildren Carlene Garcia, Ranell Franks, Robert Anderson, Penny Henderson, Doug Clayton, Fran Clayton, Mandy Harlan, Cynthia Hall, Terry Clayton Jr, Joey Clayton & Michelle Watts, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday, March 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Bartow Church of God, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Bartow Church of God.
