Gloria Douglas

Gloria Douglas 80 of Fort Meade passed away on Friday, Jan. 4. 2013 at her residence from respiratory failure. A lifelong resident of Fort Meade she and her husband Tom owned and operated Douglas' Time Saver Grocery Store in Fort Meade for many years. Gloria then worked as a Physicians Aid at the Fort Meade Clinic for Dr. Carion and Dr. Rojas and also Dr. Norma Fernandez in Bartow. A loving wife and mother she will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom and is survived by three children. Jeff Douglas and wife Becky of Ft. Pierce, Joann Douglas and companion Danny Hayes of Lakeland and Dan Douglas of Fort Meade. One sister Edith Barwick of Zephyrhills. Two brothers Wayne Whitehurst of Bartow and Warren Whitehurst and wife Joan of Winter Haven. Three grandchildren Timothy, Mandy and Tiffany Douglas. Four great grandchildren Isabel and Darian Douglas, Bryce Green and Abigail Douglas. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8th from 10-11am at McLean Funeral Home 306 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL 33841 with funeral services to begin at 11am.
