Lakeland - Glenn Nickens (69), father, brother and friend, passed away January 22, 2021. He was born on May 23, 1951 in New Orleans, LA, son of Alton and Maybell Nickens, Glenn was a longtime resident of Lakeland, FL. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. After serving his country he attended college which led to his career as an insurance claims adjuster until his retirement. He lived his life for his daughters and his main goal was that they were always taken care of and loved and that was a goal he more than accomplished. His favorite times were the ones that he spent with his daughters, family, and friends. He loved to be on the go whether it be metal detecting, fishing, hiking, camping, traveling, or going out to eat. He loved to help and lookout for everyone else before himself. He had a love for history and was known as a history buff. His legacy of being a loving, caring, and generous man will live on through his children and all the lives he touched. Fathers and daughters never say goodbye. Glenn is survived by a loving family including two daughters: Rachel Nickens of Orlando, FL and Angel Nickens of Tampa, FL, step-daughter: Heather Ibrahim and husband Sherif of Tampa, FL, step-grandchildren: Geovano and Christiana Ibrahim, brother: William Bruce Nickens and wife Peggy of Homeland, FL, sister: Patricia Dunay of Inverness, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
