Glenda Richardson

Bartow - Glenda Richardson, age 92, passed away August 9, 2023, at The Club at Bartow. Mrs. Richardson was born on March 19, 1931, in Rome , GA to Harvey and Myrtice Holcomb Minshew, who were residents of Shannon, GA and later retired to Clearwater, FL. Mrs. Richardson graduated from High School in Shannon, GA in the class of 1948. She graduated from Tift College in Forsyth, GA in 1952 and then taught school in Columbus, GA, DeKalb County, GA and Alturas, FL. She later was employed by the Polk County School as a teacher's aide in Bartow. Mrs. Richardson was a member of First Baptist Church of Bartow and a former Sunday School teacher. She married Ivan Richardson, Jr. on December 26, 1954, he preceded her in death in November of 2018. She is also preceded in death by her sister Betty Jo Richardson and children Stuart Lee Richardson, Brian Scott Richardson, James Douglas Richardson, and Nancy Anne Davis. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughter Patricia Billings ( Charles) of Tallahassee, grandchildren Sarah Gandy (Jared) of Bartow, Andrew Richardson ( Ashlyn) of Orlando, McKenzie Richardson of Lakeland, Scott Billings (Maddison) of Orlando, & Phillip Billings of Gainesville, great grandchild Norah Gandy and daughter-in-law Teri Richardson of Lakeland. Family will receive friends Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
