Gilbert Thomas Olinger

Gilbert Thomas Olinger, Sr., age 76, passed away from respiratory failure on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Born on February 9, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Olinger was the owner and operator of Falcon Contracting Co. of Bartow. He was a member of the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, past president of the Polk County Builders Association and Peace River Country Club. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Jack, Wayne, Bert, and two sisters Madelyn and Sandy. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne Carter Olinger of Bartow, two sons; Gilbert T. Olinger, Jr. (Lisa) of Bartow, Dwayne Olinger (Danna) of Lutz, Stephanie Savage (Rusty) of Platte City MO, and Deena Fussell (Jeff) of Bartow. He also leaves behind three brothers; Marshall Olinger of Lakeland, Warren Olinger of Mulberry, Tom Houlihan of West Palm, four sisters; Lorraine Whoose, Kathy Petroski both of Pennsylvania, Joy Stata of Tennessee, Marylee Carter of Winter Haven, thirteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 6th from 10AM to 11AM at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow, 205 East Stanford Street in Bartow.
