Gilbert E. "Gib" Losh, age 95, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Born September 27, 1918 in Erbacon, WV, he was the son of the late Odie and Mary Jane Losh. Mr. Losh worked along with his brother Bud Losh at Swift and Company and then retired from Pembroke Laboratories where he worked as a Chemist alongside his late brother, Charles Losh. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII, and, for some time, under the command of General George Patton. Mr. Losh was the first President of the Bartow Art Guild, and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow. Gib is also preceded in death by his wife Betty Losh and is survived by a loving family that includes his children; Nancy Losh McTaggart of Falls Church, VA, Gilbert B. "Gib" Losh (Kelli) of Bartow, his siblings; Estella Howey of West Virginia, Arthur Losh of Bartow, and his three grandchildren; Abigail, Victoria, and Everett. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 8th at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow 355 S. Florida Ave. in Bartow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
