Geraldine E. Heidel

Geraldine "Jerry" Heidel, age 85, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in Lakeland. Born October 6, 1929 in Brewster, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Lamar and Pearl Mae Williams. Mrs. Heidel retired from the Polk County Clerk of the Courts after many years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bartow, as well as several other clubs and organizations both locally and in North Carolina. Jerry is also preceded in death by her sister Kathryn Horton and her grandson Andrew Alderman. She will be remembered, most of all, as the beloved wife of her husband of 67 years Walt Heidel of Lakeland. She also leaves behind three children: Susan Bergdoll (David) of Lakeland, Ed Heidel Jr. (Bobbie) of Chattanooga, TN, Kathy Alderman (Pat) of Lakeland, three grandchildren: Ed Heidel III, Kathy Schultz (Steven), Amanda Bergdoll, and two great grandchildren: Aaron and Jessica Schultz. The family will receive friends Friday, May 29th from 2pm to 3pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home chapel.
