Georgia Lorraine Mcginnis Card

Georgia Lorraine McGinnis Card 92 of Winter Haven passed away at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Auburndale and went home to be with Jesus on Friday, September 23, 2011 . Born in Wallins, KY on March 8, 1919 she moved to the area in 1964 from Norton, VA. Georgia was a Elementary School Teacher and taught in KY, VA and in Polk County for many years. She was also a member of the Bartow Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Card and a son Clarence Card Jr. Three sisters Ruby Delph, Lucille Jones and Bess Evans. Two brothers Cecil McGinnis and Leo McGinnis. Georgia is survived by a son Bruce Card and wife Betty of Winter Haven. Two grandsons James Card and Melinda Sporleder of Bartow and Stephen Card and wife Pam of Winter Haven. Three great grandchildren Lindsey Clark and husband Robbie, Bradley Card and Megan Card and Brandon Jenkins. Several nieces and nephews and two expected great great grandchildren. Georgia will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends whom were all blessed to know her. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27th from 6-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow and Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2pm at the Bartow Church of God 1460 East Stuart Street, Bartow.
