George Howard Sinclair

March 21, 1925 — October 21, 2011

George Howard Sinclair, 86 of Moatsville formerly of Newburg, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 in Fort Meade, Florida. He was born March 21, 1925, in Newburg, son of the late Arch C and Russie M Fawley Sinclair. He graduated from Newburg High School in 1942 and served in World War II for the US Navy. George retired from the Chessie Railroad System in Grafton where he worked as a yardmaster. He was a sixty year member of the Aurora Lodge 43 A.F &A.M, Newburg where he was past master and past secretary, member of the Grafton Elks Lodge # 308, V.F.W. Memorial Post # 3081, and member of the Newburg Lutheran Church. Surviving are companion Wilma D Moats, Moatsville; two daughters, Mary Catherine Sinclair, Martinsburg, Barbara Jean Franke and husband Richard, Alabama; one son, Frankie L Sinclair Sr. and companion Tammy Temple, Newburg; five grandchildren, Troy Daniel Stuck, Shawn Michael Stuck, Josh McCandless, Frankie Sinclair Jr. and Ryan Todd Sinclair; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Jaden, D.L., and Cabel. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M Knotts Sinclair in February 2000, one daughter, Georgeann, two brothers, Arthur Eugene and Albert Leonard Sinclair. Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 4-8 pm and Wednesday October 26, 2011 from 9am until service at 11am with Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Grafton. Military graveside services will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post #12, and the D.A.V. Chapter 24, their auxiliaries.
