Germany is where he met and married Hannelore Samland. After his military years he came back home to Durham with his wife. George & Hannelore have been married 62 years. Debbie being the first born was the apple of her parent's eyes. Greg came along and added a son to the family. During Greg's teen years the family started down the Motocross path. The family traveled most weekends with Debbie taking pictures at the tracks while Greg raced. Jennifer completed the family and she was provided the encouragement to pursue her doctorate degree. Most of George's married life was spent on the east coast of Brevard County. George was an early adopter of computer technology and wanted to expose this to his family. He worked for Radiation that became Harris Corporation where he had the opportunity to be involved in the growing space industry. George spent many hours in the evenings at home drawing house plans for local builders before becoming a general contractor and building custom homes in the area. He was proud of the homes he built knowing that he was providing families with quality homes in which to make memories. In 2016 George & Hannelore moved to Bartow to be closer to family. It wasn't easy for them to leave the beach area they loved so much. While living in Bartow they were able to reconnect with family they hadn't seen in quite some time. Debbie's daughter Maureen and her 3 Children have been able to visit as well as Greg's youngest son Austin and his son. Seeing the great grandchildren brought happiness to George in his final days.
