Gene Moon

Fort Meade- Gene Moon, age 87, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 in Fort Meade. Born September 12, 1933 in Avon Park, he was the son of the late David Lovett Moon and Martha Ethel (Jones) Moon. Mr. Moon was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Gene retired after many years of service with Exxon Mobil, in Polk County, where he was a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a Seventh Day Adventist. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, Rebecca Moon of Fort Meade, his children: Lamar Moon (Barbara Sieger) of Gainesville, Wanda Brown (John) of Fort Meade and Anita Bass (Guy) also of Fort Meade, his grandchildren: Edgar Brown (Beth), Bret Bass (Becky), Gwendolyn Clark (Jeff), Kaylee Dodd (Ethan), numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd at 11:00am at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade.
