Freddy G. Kirk

Freddy Gene Kirk, age 81 of Rural Retreat, VA, passed away February 8, 2022. He was born on February 26, 1940 in Alcott, WV. Mr. Kirk was the son of the late Quincy Cody Kirk, Sr. and Julia Ann (Dunlap) Kirk. Freddy was a long distance truck driver for Indian River Transport for many years. Along with his parents, Mr. Kirk is preceded in death by his wife Linda Kirk. He is survived by his companion and soulmate, Mary Coleman, his children: Frankie Kirk, Pamela Cool (Robert), his step children: Sue Sharp, Anita Cochran, Barbara Coleman, Rita Bynum and Lamar Coleman (Chastity), along with fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings: Quincy C. Kirk (Pat), Larry J. Kirk (Felisha), Bonnie Lue Laucius (Larry), his brother-in-law, Eddie Johnson (Peggy) and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 16th from 9:30am to 10:30am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. A graveside service will held at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow at 11:00am .
