Fred C. Russell

Bartow - Fred C. Russell, age 90, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018. He was born February 8, 1928 in Talladega, AL, Fred was in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bartow. He was a Drag Line Operator for U.S. Steel. He was a member of the American Legion post 3 and V.F.W. post 2405 . He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Iris Russell and sisters; Betty Douberly and Rosemary Burnett and brothers, Sam Russell, F.G. "Buddy" Russell, Harold Russell and Ronnie Russell. He is survived by his daughter; Susan Holland (Alton "Skip") of Winter Haven, son; Steven Russell (Lynn) of Sunbright, TN , five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Owen officiating. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL.
