Lakeland - Lester Franklin Barr, age 96, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Born April 23, 1920 in Midland City, AL, Mr. Barr was a longtime resident of Lakeland. Mr. Barr was employed at Mid State Packers in Bartow and the phospate industry for many years. He is survived by two sons: Les J. Barr of Bartow and Jerry Barr of Polk City; a daughter: Mary Burke of Lakeland, 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
