Frank Randal Wilson, age 77, sadly passed away in Lakeland, FL on February 27, 2024. He was born on July 26, 1946, in Bartow, FL. He went to Florida State University for undergraduate and then went on to receive a Masters degree at Rollins College. Randal worked mainly in Risk Management as his career for many years. Randal served his country in the US Army during Vietnam and was stationed in the DMZ zone in Korea as Armor and was discharged as 1st Lieutenant. He enjoyed the outdoors, rock hunting, geology, and eventually moved to Oregon and fell in love with the mountains and forest. He was known for his tall tales and stories and especially liked to tell them around a good campfire. Randal also lived in Virginia and eventually landed in Dallas, TX. In his remaining years he moved back to Bartow and Lakeland, FL. He is survived by his daughters Julianna Denver Benfield and Lindsay Jean Wilson, brother Gerry Wilson, sister Dr. Jan Wilson Johnston, step-brother Charles Shepard, and grandchildren Liberty Benfield and Jett Benfield. A closed service with immediate family members only will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Friday, March 8th, 2024.
