Frances P. Whitfield

Bartow -Frances P. Whitfield , age 91, passed away February 8, 2024, at Advent Health Lake Wales. She was born on October 3, 1932, in Thomas County, GA. She was a Banding Machine Operator for Have a Tampa Cigar Factory. She was a member of Lake Garfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, canning, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her first husband Alfred Hayes, second husband Hiram Benjamin "H.B," Whitfield, son Harold Hayes , brothers Frankie Griffin & Lon Griffin and sister Vera M. Pitts. She is survived by a loving family that includes her sons Al Hayes (Susie) of Bartow, Frankie Hayes of NC & Johnny W Hayes of NC, daughters Joyce Lee of NC & Mary Nemo (Ron) of AR, many grandchildren , many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren, brother Billy Griffin of GA and sister Louise Flat of Bartow. Family will receive friends Monday, February 12, 2024, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Homeland Cemetery, Homeland.
