Frances Inez Whitaker

Frances Inez Whitaker, age 89. passed away September 1, 2013 from respiratory failure in Haines City. Born November 17, 1923 in Soperton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Etta Brantley. Mrs. Whitaker retired from Ben Hill Griffin Inc., where she was a sectionizer, after 28 years of service. She was a member of Homeland Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Whitaker, three sons; Wayne, Lamar and Ray Whitaker, her three sisters, one grandchild and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her son Richard Lynn Whitaker (Wendy) of Haines City, her three daughters; Carolyn Butler (David), Eloise Rodriguez (Henry) all of Bartow, and Jeannie Whitaker of Haines City. She also leaves behind her sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 5th from 6pm to 8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow Friday, September 6th at 2:00pm at the funeral home chapel.
