Floyd H. Heckert

Floyd H. Heckert, 83, of Bartow passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his residence. Born in Cleveland, OH, he moved to Bartow in 1983 from Port Clinton, OH, where he was high school principal. He was a member of the McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church where he also served as Clerk of the Session. He served on the Friends of Bartow Public Library Board and the Bartow Library Board, Floral Lakes Homeowners Association and was a volunteer Polk County Mediator. Floyd was also a WWII Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Nancy Heckert of Bartow; two sons Mark Heckert and wife Sandra of Miami and Scott Heckert of Stuart. Granddaughter Sandra Heckert and Grandson Steven Heckert, both of Miami. A memorial service will held on, Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 1:30pm at the McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church in Bartow.
