Florence Edwards

Bartow- Florence Wilson Burrows Edwards, 97, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at her residence in Bartow of natural causes. A native of Fort Meade, Mrs. Edwards was a lifelong resident of the Bartow / Fort Meade area. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Meade. She was a member of the Fort Meade American Legion Auxiliary; Past president 1983-84 American Cancer Society East Polk Unit; 1986 Child Advocate of the Year of the Childrens' Home Society of Florida. She is survived by her daughter: Martha & husband Fletcher Yeilding of Birmingham, Ala; Grandchildren: Foster & wife Leigh Ann Yeilding; Renee & husband David Schneider; Lee & wife Vicki Yeilding & Marshall Manly Yeilding all of Birmingham & 9 great grandchild. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 3 at 3:00 PM at Homeland Cemetery in Homeland, FL. A service for The Celebration of Life will be held following the graveside service at 4:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 118 Pine Avenue N, Fort Meade with Rev. Jack G. Taylor & Rev. Jerry F. Conner officiating. A reception will follow at the church. The family would like to express their appreciation to Good Shepherd Hospice for the kindness and loving care shown to Mrs. Edwards.
