The family of Flora Young Conley announces her homegoing on November 14, 2023. She was born 9/11/41 to the late William Henry and Flora Lee Peacock Young of Alturas, Florida. She graduated from Summerlin institute of Bartow in 1959. She was a founding member of Alturas Baptist Church where she served as pianist for 22 years. Flora loved serving others through her many talents. She enjoyed playing piano, sewing, crafting and was never idle. After moving to Georgia in 1993, she and her late husband, George F. Conley, served God by volunteering their time, talents and compassion to Wrightsville Manor Nursing Home where they held Sunday school, sing alongs, games and special services for holidays and birthdays for the patients. Flora and George returned to Bartow in 2012 and continued to spread God’s word and love until George’s passing in 2018. Those awaiting her arrival in Heaven are her husband, George, her father and mother, Henry and Flora Lee Young, a daughter, Linda Yvonne Graddy, sisters Raymurl Hielscher and Evelyn Hielscher, brothers Allen Young, Glynn Young and Leland Young. Survivors are her children, Janan (Graddy) Luecke (Bill) of Rockledge, GA; Wayne (Sherry) Graddy of Bartow, FL; Dayne (Tina) Graddy of Dayton, TX; and bonus son, John Reynolds of Elmira, NY. 12 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A sister, Doniece Bennett, of Bartow, FL, and a brother, James Young, of Eufaula, AL. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday November 18, 2023, at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, Fl. Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:00 pm and service will follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Chris Young officiating and Dr. Wayne Maberry doing the eulogy. Everyone is invited to join us at Main St. Baptist Church after for a time of fellowship.
