Faye Wood

Mrs. Faye Wood, age 73, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at her home in Bartow. Faye was a lifelong resident of Bartow. She was born July 8, 1941 to Robert Lee Walker and Martha Margaret (Clark) Walker. Faye was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked as the school nurse for the Vanguard School in Lake Wales. Mrs. Wood is survived by a loving family that includes her husband of 38 years, Larry E. Wood of Bartow, her children: Kenneth G. Parton of Lakeland, Susie Parton of Lakeland, Glenita Lewis of Wales, United Kingdom, Betsy Mittelstet of Houston, TX, and Shelley Lusty of Kansas City, MO. She also leaves behind her brother Joe Walker and wife Renie of Jonesboro, TN, her sister Linda Pollard and husband Edward of Lake Placid, fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond Walker of Bartow. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25th from 6 PM to 8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Graveside services will follow on Saturday, July 26th at 10:00 AM at Gandy Cemetery in Connersville.
