Bartow - Faye Garcia, age 87, entered into rest on January 14, 2024, at her residence in Homeland surrounded by her family. She was born in Fort Meade, FL. Faye began her career as a receptionist at the PCSO. She transitioned to a secretarial position with W.R Grace & Co, where she spent the next 25 years continuing her professional development. She served as the president of the local chapter of CPS during this period as well. She obtained her BS from FSC in 1982 and transitioned to the banking industry in 1985. She was recognized as the top seller in her region two months in a row in 1987. She was promoted to branch manager at the Florida Federal Bartow branch in 1988. Due to a life-changing event she discovered her passion for caregiving and obtained her registered nurse certification in 1993. She worked in various settings until she found her true calling as a Hospice Nurse. Once she retired, she shifted her focus to actively caring for her great-grandchildren and other family members. In her leisure time, she enjoyed thrift shopping and world travel, including several missions trips. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Noel, daughter Phyllis, son-in-law Michael, and her six siblings Jack, Herman, Harold, Earl, Betty, and Louise. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughters Donna and Cindy (Robert), four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was laid to rest in Homeland Cemetery.
