Evelyn R. Davis

Fort Meade - Evelyn Reeder Davis, age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Somers Hospice House in Sebring, FL. Born July 27, 1938 in Bowling Green, FL, Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of Fort Meade. Evelyn worked along side her two husbands through the years, first in the monument company with George Reeder, then as an office assistant with Sherman Davis at Sherman's Body Shop, she later was a caregiver for residents of Fort Meade for several years. Evelyn attended the First Assembly of God of Fort Meade. She was an avid tennis player, a member of the Highlands and Hardee County Tennis Association. She was a former member of the Bartow Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husbands: George Reeder and Sherman Davis; her parents: Alvie and and Dolly Thomas Davis; brother: Ray Davis; sister: Joyce Swails and a grandson: Deryl Davis; step-son Lamar Davis & step grandchild: Deryl David. Evelyn is survived by a loving family including: two step sons: Lavoy Davis (Barbara) & Myron Davis of Fort Meade; step daughter: Nancy Russell (Terry), Vernon, AL; four brothers: Gerald Davis (Wynelle), Wauchula; Rev. Harold Davis, Bowling Green; Troy Davis (Barbara), Lakeland and Gene Davis (Judy), Wauchula. Step grandchildren: Jason Harrell (Eva), Jennifer Harrell Armijo (Margarito), Eric Russell (Somer), Britney Russell, Blake Russell and Caleb Russell, Julie Justice-Lay, Sharon Daniels, Missy Davis, Shawn Davis, Jon Albert and Jason Albert (Erica) and several great step grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces & nephews.. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10:00-10:30 A.M. at McLean Funeral Home, Fort Meade. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 A.M..
