Eugene L. Sheldon

Eugene L. Sheldon, age 86, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 in Columbus, GA. Born September 21, 1926 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Esther (Whitaker) Sheldon. Eugene was a broadcast engineer in the radio industry for many years. He also worked as a court baliff for the Polk County Sheriff's Office for 10 years in Bartow. Mr. Sheldon was a Southern Baptist and also served in ministy for several years. He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores Sheldon. He is survived by is daughter Shirley Whitton (Kenneth) Midland, GA, his son Pete Sheldon (Natasha) of Winter Haven, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 25th from 10AM to 11AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral service will follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home.
