Eugene Grose

Mr. Eugene Grose, age 84, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 in Bartow. Born July 4, 1927 in Milan, Ohio, Mr. Grose had been a resident of Bartow since 1986. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in the Sea Bees and worked as a Diesel Mechanic for many years in the trucking industry. Mr. Grose was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bartow. He was a Mason, Boy Scout Troop Leader, a member of the Retired Seabees, Eagles Lodge and V.F.W. in Norwalk, Ohio. Mr. Grose is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 64 years, Mary C. Grose, four children; Jean Ellington (Robert) of Lake Wales, FL, Rebecca Nusbaum (Raymond) of Temperance, MI, Thomas Grose (Kathy) of Collins, OH, and John Grose (Dawn) of Portland, OR. He also leaves behind four siblings; Clarence Grose, Jr. of Norwalk, OH, Clarice Stewart of Ashland, OH, Janet Crofoot of White Cloud, MI. Marjorie Knoll also of Norwalk, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow where the family will receive friends Saturday, February 4th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Memorial services will commence at 11:00AM at the funeral home. There will be local memorial services held at a later date in Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bartow, 455 S.
