Eugene "Gene" Lewis

Eugene "Gene" Lewis, age 82, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021. He was born May 3, 1939 in Frostproof, FL to John "Bennie" & Laura Lewis. Gene was a sixth generation Florida Cracker and lived in the area his entire lie. He served eight years as an artillery training Sergeant in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War at the Avon Park base. Gene was a Lineman for Florida Power for 43 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Frostproof. After retiring as a Lineman, Gene earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminology from St. Leo and Nova University. He was also a Freemason for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Marston "B-Annie" Lewis. He is survived by his son Ben Lewis & wife Linda of Winter Haven, four granddaughters Hayden Lewis, Mikayla Lewis, Ashley Taylor and Jessica Bellamy and sister Sylvia Patten & husband Bob. Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 10:00 am at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof, FL. Condolences to family at www.whiddenmcleanfuneralhome.com
