Ethan Kendrick Powell, age 20, ended his life on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Davenport, Florida. Ethan was born April 14, 2004 in Springfield, Missouri. A graduate of Polk State College, he was preparing to begin his junior year at Florida Southern College. Ethan was an itinerate traveler who had accompanied his family on their State Department Foreign Service postings in India, Cameroon, and Oman. He graduated from high school at The American International School in Muscat, Oman in 2022. Ethan loved his brother Seth who loved him fiercely in return. Ethan loved hanging out with friends and family in Florida and Missouri. He leaves behind friends and loved ones across several continents after spending his middle school and high school years abroad. Ethan was an aspiring author and completed his first novel. He planned to pursue a career in the mental health field as a crisis counselor. Ethan is survived by his parents David and Heather Powell, currently residing in Manila, Philippines, brother Seth Powell, grandmothers Hazel Kendrick and Mary Ann Krieg, grandfather Donald Powell, uncles Dusty Kendrick (Anndee), Rob Kendrick, Mark Powell (Trudy) and Caleb Burrow (Jamie), aunts Miranda Wilson (Marc), Gwen Hunt (Curt) and Adina Everett (Ross). The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Heartland Church, 225 Avenue B NW in Winter Haven, Florida.
