Ernest L. Schobl

Ernest L. Schobl, age 86, passed away from respiratory failure Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Bartow. Mr. Schobl was born on September 11, 1924 in Middletown, NY. He worked as a coxswain for a a tugboat business in New York before moving to Bartow. After moving to Bartow, he owned and operated the Tastee Freeze in Bartow along with his wife Jeanne. Mr. Schobl was an U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the V.F.W. Post #2405 in Bartow, along with the Old Timers Rod and Gun Club in New York. He is survived by his son August L. Schobl (Sandra), two granddaughters; Stephanie Stephens (Verton), Danielle Schobl all of Bartow, and two great granddaughters; Alexia and Kylie. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 22nd from 10-11am at the First Christian Church of Bartow, 400 S. Oak Ave.. Funeral services will follow at the church at 11:00am.
