Emma Hernandez

Emma Hernandez 71 of Bartow passed away February 21, 2011 from complications of diabetes at her residence. Born in Parras Coahuila, Mexico Emma was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Guadalupe Catholic Mission of Wahneta. Emma was preceded in death by a son Abel Hernandez and is survived by her husband of 56 years Avelino Hernandez of Bartow; eight children Maria Hernandez Rodriguez of Winter Haven; Jose P. Hernandez Sr. of Arkansas; Emma A. Hernandez of Bartow; Christina Alvarado of Eagle Lake; Luis A. Hernandez of Lakeland; Victoria H. Sihweil of Bartow; Alejandro Hernandez of Alturas and Mauricio Hernandez of Bartow; three sisters Irene, Graciela and Raquel; three brothers Jesus, Juan and Mauro; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Wednesday February 23, 2011 from 6-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow with a Funeral Mass to follow on Thursday at 11am at the Guadalupe Catholic Mission in Wahneta.
