Elmer T. Vallie, age 89, of Bartow, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at at his residence in Bartow. Born January 5 1921 in Wyandotte, MI to Willard Vallie & Virginia Pilon Vallie. Mr. Vallie has been a resident of Bartow since 1990, moving from Wyandotte, MI. He retired from Whitehead & Kale Corp of Michigan. He was employed with Edwards Airport Security Agency, Bartow for several years. He was a Army veteran serving in World War II. He was past post commander and honor guard member of the American Legion Post 3, Bartow; a life member of VFW Post 4289; member of the 40 & 8 Voiture Local #218 Scottish Rite; 32 Degree Mason, Masonic Lodge Valley Detroit & the Elks Lodge # 1731. He is preceded in death by his former wives: Norma Vallie & Honey Vallie. He is survived by his wife: Amy Vallie of Bartow;
son: Garold Vallie of Browntown, MI; 4 daughters: Norma Corpolongs of Lincoln Park, MI; Jan Amer of Tampa; Lola Charboneau of Brooksville; Laura Baisden of Mulberry; 2 brothers: Tom Vallie & wife Sue; Robert Vallie & wife Ruth all of Michigan. 3 daughters-in-law; 1 son-in-law; 9 sister-in-laws; 5 brother-in-laws; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010, at 2:00 pm at the American Legion Post # 3, 1575 Hwy 17 S, Bartow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Elmer T. Vallie Scholarship, American Legion Post #3, Bartow or 40 & 8 Nurses Fund, American Legion Post 8, Winter Haven.
