Bartow- Elma R. West, 87, died Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Rohr Nursing Home in Bartow. Born August 7, 1921 in Adel, GA, Mrs. West was a longtime resident of Bartow. She was a member of the Peace Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded by her husband Curtis West. She is survived by two sons: Larry & wife Gwen West of Bartow; Gary & wife Barbara West of Harker Heights, TX ; brother: Bud & wife Helen Flowers of Bartow; 4 sisters: Uneta & husband Gordon Fortner of Rudy, Ark; Geraldine & husband David Mooneyham of Temple Terrace; LaVerne & husband Mac McCall of Bartow; Joyce & husband Tom Fortner of Bartow; 7 Grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday October 21, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
