Elma Macy Holton

Mrs. Elma Macy Holton, age 87, went into the arms of Jesus on Friday, October 9, 2009. Macy was born May 30, 1922, in Loughman, Florida and spent the majority of her life in Polk County. She graduated from Summerlin Institute in 1940. In 1972, she moved with her Husband to North Georgia. For the past four years Macy lived in Swainsboro, GA., near her Son. Macy loved her friends at Retirement Inn and received excellent care. Macy enjoyed being with her family. She was married for 59 years. During that time she loved to travel and visit her mountain home in Tennessee. Macy loved gospel music and enjoyed dancing. Although her family will miss her dearly, we rejoice in knowing she is with Jesus. Macy is preceded in death by her Mother - Ollie Madge Mercer, her Father - Jessie Mercer and by her Husband Lowell Eugene Holton, Sr. She is survived by Son-Lowell Eugene and wife Shirley Holton, Jr. of Midville, GA; Three Granddaughters; Deborah Hamilton and Husband David, Patricia Parker, Brenda Selph and Husband Larry; Six Great-Grandchildren; Tonya Parker, Randi Parker Sackett and Husband Cody, Brian Hamilton, Dustin Selph, Brett Hamilton, Chad Selph; and by one Great Great-Grandson - Garrett Lee Sackett. Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Funeral service will be at McLean Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 14, 2009. The burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL.
